Life during pregnancy and after the birth of a child may look much different than you were expecting. 1 in 5 women experience postpartum (after birth) anxiety or depression. It also affects 1 in 10 men. Don't navigate this period of life alone. Don't suffer in silence. Postpartum Support International says it best: "You are not alone and you are not to blame. Help is available. You will get better."
Moms, dads, friends, and family- reach out for help with:
Healthy moms and dads raise healthy kids. Parenting is the toughest job there is and no two kids are alike. If you are struggling with behavioral concerns, challenging family dynamics, or even mental health concerns of your own, reach out for parenting support! In person in Charleston or virtually across SC and VA, I'm here to help!
Parents, let's collaborate!
Our children sometimes struggle in ways we can't fully understand. Mental health concerns may show up as behavioral issues, struggling in school, crying/ outbursts, disturbed sleeping and eating, loss of interest in their favorite activities, and more. As children mature into teens and young adults, things can become even more complicated! If you think your child needs help, reach out for parenting support. As a former school counselor, I also understand the in's and out's of school systems and know how to therapy can support the relationship between your child's mental health and school.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
